Our firm was established to serve clients throughout the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana. With the opening of our Michigan office, in New Buffalo, Berrien County, Michigan, we are now bringing the same level of client commitment and professional expertise that has been our motto and pledge from the start to clients in the entire Michiana area. We believe that this multi-state perspective and practice enable us to serve our clients in all three states better than if we confined our practice to only one state.  
Licensed as an attorney in Illinois for more than 35 years, in Indiana for more than 25 years, and now also in Michigan, Michael T. Sawyier, the founder of the firm, has long had the vision of creating a multi-state firm that brings top-quality, reasonably priced professional legal services to its clients. Thus, this firm's associate attorney, Charles F. Maupin, is licensed in both Illinois and Indiana. One of our two Of Counsel attorneys, Richard F. Ruby, is also licensed in both those states as well as in Michigan (where he primarily practices). Our other Of Counsel attorney, Mark D. Olson, has a national practice in healthcare law and related administrative litigation. Jason R. Williams, the firm's other named partner, is principally in charge of the firm's litigation. His and the firm's litigation practice is presently concentrated in Illinois, but he is regularly available for litigations in Indiana or Michigan by motion (pro hac vice) to the court.
